Hi!
Welcome to TravelRhapsody.com.
After four years in IT & creative industry, and then, two years handling event management, I finally found my true love - working as a journalist. Since 2005, this line of profession opens lot of opportunities for me to travel. The idea of exploring new places, and then find myself blending in new surroundings, really excites me. As an energetic Sagittarian, I own a trait as one who enjoys freedom and challenge. So I feast my free spirit and curiosity by exploring just about anywhere.
Every time I got back from a trip, I love sharing my experiences with others, especially to my family and closest friends. Apart from having my travel write-ups published in Kosmo!, I want to provide more than that, like an archive or a journal so that more people could have a taste of my travels. A blog seems perfect!
As for me, each of my journeys is a priceless reward for my curiosity and enthusiasm. I find each destination unique in its own way, so I capture as much as everything with my senses and thoughts... and translate all that into words and photography.
I'll try my best to recollect and publish all of my write-ups that some of you might have read in Kosmo! since 2005. From time to time, there will be more entries which are exclusive to TravelRhapsody.com visitors.
The content of this travel blog is presented in a mix of Bahasa Melayu and English. As much as I want to stay close to the Malay readers, I'm also welcoming visitors from all around the world to have a peek at my humble review and documentation of all the places that I have visited. For those of you who don't understand Malay language, I really hope that you would enjoy the photos!
I dedicate TravelRhapsody.com to my family (Mak, Ayah, Kak Lina & Abg Man) and dear friends.
Wishing you Selamat Berlibur & Happy Travels!
Love,
A.H. Hamzah
Above is a screen capture of how TravelRhapsody.com looked like when it was first started in the end of 2002. It was active until 2004 and then... 'abandoned' and not updated for about four years because of my hectic commitment (excuses...) with Kosmo!.
I really regret for not staying connected in the network through TravelRhapsody.com, knowing that it was the only medium to link myself with the rest of the Internet community. And my friends have been patient enough to suggest... invite... introduce... and wait...(repeat the cycle again and again) for my appearance in every social based network available. Yet it didn't happen.
Yes, up till now, I don't have any profile listed in Facebook, Friendster, Myspace and such. I know how mad my friends are for not having any of those. Sorry guys/gals, I just don't have the motivation to start one. Hehe. So I believe, the only way I could claim my 'right' in the cyberspace is by resuscitating TravelRhapsody.com.
(**newsflash!** Tadaaaaa...!!! I finally registered with Facebook on December 16th, 2008)
I would like to thank Norman for all his hard work in keeping this domain secured, reengineered the complicated hidden mechanisms and giving it a great new look (err... gimme some credit here please.... All graphic work is done by me!).
I also would love to thank the wonderful bunch of people (all 53 of them) who came and provide their support during my belated-birthday-party-cum-re-launch-ceremony of this blog on January 3rd, 2009 @ Intai-intai. May God bless all of you!
A HUMBLE FOOTNOTE:
Is this a blog? Yes. Does it makes me a blogger? I don't think so. I'd prefer being labeled as an informer or a storyteller. Those two words are more comfortable than being called a blogger. Furthermore, established bloggers have certain style of speaking their minds through their entries. And I don't own that yet. I feel that I'm a bit different.
Why travel blog? Hmm... I guess there are too many blogs out there with contents filled with serious discussions, controversies, hatred, bitter honesty and my-opinion-is-better-than-others attitude. Nowadays, you need to have your blood pressure checked every time you finish reading a blog with such nature! I just want people to surf mine with a smile and a calm state of mind. Peace y'all!
